This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There has been a recurring dilemma at the middle school where I teach. I loan out pencils to students, remind them what it means to borrow something, and still the pencils continue to disappear on a daily basis. I've tried numerous systems to ensure the return of my precious pencils, but being a pencil policeman is not where I want to use my energy. If I have golf pencils or pencils that have an attachment on the eraser I am more likely to get them back or just let them go without a full investigation.

I teach at a Title I school and students think (or their friends think) that the food is "nasty" so they refuse to eat it, even though it is free.

So the snacks will be offered to students that are hungry, I prefer to offer something healthy rather than sugary snacks or chips, etc.
