Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember the excitement of recess? My students need some excitement in our current playground. They need items to use during our outdoor playtime.
My Pre-K students are a group of energetic and curious four year-olds.
They love to learn new concepts and are always asking questions. They attend a public Pre-K through 6th grade school in an urban setting. Furthermore, my students come from low socio-economic backgrounds and all qualify for free or reduced school lunch.
My Project
The students will be able to use the rocky boat and playhouse during our outdoor play. Play is an essential part of preschool. It is during this time that the students will be able to learn key social and emotional concepts that will aid their development and preparation for kindergarten. Currently, we do not have these items in our playground and my students need them to enhance their outdoor play. As a result of having these items, my students will develop their physical gross motor skills on the rocky boat and play house, as well as developing social and emotional skills.
My students currently do not have items like these in our playground and so this project will give them much needed equipment.
This project will aid them in developing essential social and emotional skills, as well as add to their physical development as they will use these items in their outdoor play.
