The Great Amazing First Grade Race!

Help me give my students an Amazing Race experience where the children will solve puzzles, run obstacle courses, read books, and much more.

My Project

My students are dreamers, problem solvers, and likely, the most creative little people you will ever meet. They are a happy group of first graders who love school and love to learn.

Robert Hales said, "It is not how you start the race or where you are during the race, it is how you cross the finish line that will matter."

My students will come into the start of our school year at different levels, and that doesn't matter. I will take them where they are and move them forward to where they need to be. We will have an Amazing Race experience to show them the importance of TEAM WORK and finishing a task. This can be repeated throughout the year with different tasks and subjects. The children will open the Amazing Race envelope to reveal a task that the group will need to complete. Sometimes they have to choose one or two from their team to complete it and other times the entire group will participate. The tasks range from completing a puzzle, to finishing an obstacle course (that's where the cones come in) to walking on monster stilts. There will be road blocks and detour tasks.

I am excited to teach my students that the secret to a great start is to finish strong. This will be an underlying theme this school year. Thank you for helping us have a great start to this school year!
