My Students
As a Math teacher in a South Brooklyn school, some of my students have more resources at home than others. As a seventh-year teacher, I think it is imperative that my students all get equal opportunities to do well on their assignments. Despite the many challenges some of my students might face, I am looking to keep things interactive and simple. I want to provide my students with the resources they need to succeed in my class and in life.
My students come from various cultural backgrounds, I want my live and online classroom to be a place where we learn from each other's differences.
When students enter my online/in-person classroom, I focus on their potential and their growth. Having a new printer and supplies will give students the opportunity to be a part of our ever-growing community. By using google slides, zoom, interactive resources, and other media students will visualize and interact with each other in our digital world. My students are very familiar with using computers since we use them in school on a daily basis.
My Project
Teaching in 2022 is not the same as teaching "back in the day." Our students are part of the digital age. As a teacher of this generation, it is important that we also have the proper tools we need to be successful in the classroom. Thankfully our school has provided our teachers with many tools to do our jobs well.
Having a pair of Apple AirPods will ensure that I am able to do my job effectively.
The students will benefit from this because they will have clear videos that they can watch of me modeling math problems for them. This would be great to use in our current order of operations lessons. This will benefit my students that need extra support because they will be posted on google classroom. I will be able to clearly hear students if we have to switch to remote learning. I will be able to listen to math videos in my shared classroom and not disrupt my co-teacher. I will also be able to use them to create my own math videos by using the microphone.
