My Project
I’ve always had students curiously wade through The Giver until they are engulfed in conversation about Jonas and his community. Our current copies of the books have been through thousands of students hands, have missing pages, and despite repairs, have seen their days.
Having a new class set of books will help students, present and future, gain interest and pridefully open a newer set that they can tend to and ensure proper conditions.
This novel really gets students thinking, and more importantly, questioning the world around them and embracing the free will they become more aware of.
