This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

One of my biggest passions is encouraging a love of reading for my students. Literacy is the most direct and effective path to student enrichment and is one of the best predictors in life of positive social, emotional, and mental health. By encouraging students to read, we are accelerating their learning, and changing their lives. The books in my classroom are loved, valued, and connected with by my students. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, which is why I would like to add Spanish and Persian books to our collection.
