My students need transportation to the Getty Center in Los Angeles. I want them to experience the Getty's beauty and tranquility.

My 6th grade students are good kids who come from difficult circumstances. Poverty, learning English as a second language, and no one at home who can help them with their school work are a few of their daily challenges.
We are a Title 1 school in a rural community, which means a large number of students (89% to be exact) receive free or reduced priced lunch.
Although we have high levels of poverty, you would not know it from walking on campus and meeting the children. Despite their challenges in life, our students continue to achieve academically every year. In fact, we were honored as a State Distinguished School. My goal, as their teacher, is to help my students reach their full potential, and expose them to the beauty the world has to offer.
My students work hard all year. They are under pressure with district testing, state testing, and their daily academics. So, for our class trip, I want my students to visit the most beautiful location in Los Angeles, the Getty Center. The admission is free, but the transportation is expensive. My 110 6th graders require 2 school buses. The Getty has breathtaking views, beautiful gardens, and an incredible art collection. I want my students to relax and drink in the tranquil atmosphere. Most of them have never even been to a museum. I show my classes paintings and sculptures from the Internet and books, but there are no words to explain the feeling of standing next to a painting as large as a wall.
My students are good kids with lots of challenges in their daily lives.
For one day, I want them to relax in the sunshine, stretch out on the grass, and enjoy a picnic with their friends. The Getty Center is a breathtaking location with so much to offer. Please, help me give my students a trip they will remember for the rest of their lives.
