it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The Game of Life is not just entertainment—it’s an educational simulation that reflects real economic principles. By incorporating it into the classroom, teachers give students a hands-on, memorable way to explore economics, preparing them for smart financial decision-making in the real world.
The Game of life teaches Fundamental Economic Concepts like; opportunity cost, trade-offs, and scarcity as players choose between different life paths (e.g., college vs.
career). It covers income, taxes, loans, insurance, and retirement—key real-world financial concepts. Players must make economic decisions based on incomplete information, just like in real life. It highlights the impact of choices and risks (e.g., investing in education vs. going straight to work) on long-term outcomes.
The game mirrors life events like buying a house, having children, saving for retirement—helping students understand personal finance and life planning. It encourages thinking about future consequences of financial decisions, which is critical for economic literacy. Playing in groups builds communication, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills—all relevant to economic behavior and workplace environments. These are all concept that students need to have a brighter future and to make better financial decisions.
