My Project
My students are future professionals, working in a high school setting to learn more about careers in education and human services. We work with preschoolers, ages 3-5, twice per week, in a lab setting, housed in our high school. these materials will help students to organize their units of study and create learning opportunities for our ten preschoolers next year. Each of the students brings their unique strengths and creativity to the program, fostering an environment where both they and the preschoolers can thrive. They develop lesson plans that incorporate play-based learning, nurturing the children's curiosity while honing their own teaching skills.
The materials we are requesting range from containers for storage, markers for projects, tagboard, tape, preschool storage for their work throughout the day and more.
By engaging in hands-on activities, organizing their own business and corresponding preschool lab, storytelling, and interactive games, the students gain invaluable experience in child development and classroom management. This practical approach not only enriches the preschoolers' educational journey but also equips the high school students with the confidence and competence they need to excel in their future careers.
As our preschoolers and future educators, social workers, etc. collaborate, reflect, and adapt their teaching methods, they are building a solid foundation for successful futures in education and beyond. Our school houses children and young adults from all walks of life and our hope is to instill a love of education and a passion for passing this love on to our students, young and old, who will help future classrooms, hospitals, therapeutic settings and more house professionals who look like all of their clients and not just a portion.
