My Students
I teach 17 energetic kindergarteners. Of those 17, 2 are English language learners. They are full of curiosity and wonder. They keep me motivated to be the best teacher I can be. They make me laugh, smile, and sometimes cry. There innocence allows them to be honest and authentic.
I enjoy learning about all of them.
I always have a student of the week and ask them all kinds of questions. When I asked one of my students "Where is your favorite place to go?" He said the gas station. In my mind I was thinking of QT where they can get doughnuts, slushies and a multitude of other things. Well when I asked him "Why is that your favorite place?" He said, "Because I get to wait in the car." I just giggled.
My Project
A second monitor will be very useful because I can share my screen and still type using the other screen. Right now I have to minimize the screen, type, and then re-maximize it so they can see it. If you have ever taught little ones you know that I have lost them in that time. It is difficult to keep them engaged when you have to keep flipping back and forth.
This would be a godsend.
This would also be useful for apps like Flipgrid, when I am trying to show them how to use it. I can use one screen to model with. It is very difficult to teach students at this age without modeling. Everything we do relies on us modeling for them first.
