My Students

My students come from various socioeconomic backgrounds and ethnicities. Our school is considered a low income school and our funding is very limited. I am so very excited for our school to be launching a steam lab this year, but need your help. I will be teaching students from grades 1-5. I will see approximately 500 students a week. Each grade level has approximately 100-120 students. Since these students come from all kinds of backgrounds it is so important to use hands-on experiences to reach each and every student. In our ever changing world of technology coding is being talked about more and more. Giving students hands-on ability to learn how to code with technology is vital.

My Project

Students will work together to continue to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they learn about the real world application of coding. Technology is changing at an amazing pace and students need to be able to code and operate technology in order to not only be successful in school, but in future careers. STEAM (STEM) is all about using science, technology, engineering, art, and math to help students learn to solve real world problems. I am so excited the launch of the STEAM lab at our school. I am even more excited about being able to teach children things that they can apply to the real world.

These requested coding robots and mice are great for elementary students to begin exploring the world of coding.
