The Future Depends Upon Environmentally Literate Citizens
Help me give my students books and materials to help them become environmentally literate and eco-conscious. Books will introduce important concepts while magnifying lamps will allow us to look closely at the natural world.
I have 550 amazing K-5 students from around the globe who are eager to learn about the natural world around them. Trade books will help introduce Environmental Literacy concepts and themes, while hands-on experiences and equipment will help engage and cement new learning.
This new program aims to equip young learners with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to understand and appreciate the natural world, fostering responsible environmental stewardship, while building social-emotional and relationship skills.
By nurturing environmental literacy from a young age, we empower students to become informed and engaged citizens who can contribute to a sustainable future while giving equitable access to nature. Greening schoolyards levels the playing field, ensuring all children, regardless of background, can experience the transformative benefits of nature.
Books and activities will cultivate a sense of environmental responsibility by fostering empathy for the natural world and encouraging responsible actions. At the same time, it will promote social-emotional growth and relationship building.
