Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 60% of our students receiving free lunch. We are a title one school which means that most, if not all of my students are living in homes where their parents or guardians make below poverty level incomes. My students are very hard working and willing to learn anything that I put in front of them. They love challenges and show grit and tenacity in our everyday classroom lives.
My Project
Our classroom is need of help rehabbing our decorations and flexible seating accomodations in order to create a fun and innovative area my third grade students can learn and collaborate in. Our classroom needs these new chairs and decorations to make sure we have a fun and inviting classroom that every student wants to come in and learn in daily. I have chosen to use the Star Wars theme in order to cultivate an environment where my students will learn to use the force daily, create and complete missions successfully, and work together as a united rebel force! I believe that if our students are excited about learning, then the sky is the limit on what they are able to achieve. Star Wars is a very relatable movie and subject for third grade students, and I look forward to instilling more love for the movies and stories!
