My Project

Being able to calm yourself when emotions run high is a learned skill that needs to be taught in today's society to children. Similar to how a child is taught to tie their shoe once they have the fine motor skills to do so, once a child’s brain is developmentally ready to self-regulate, they can learn different strategies and ways that work well for them. These extraordinary, extra-durable sensory mats would make an excellent addition to the calming corner of my classroom.

The bright colors mesmerize, morph, and move when pressure is applied which gives students the sense of sensory interaction that they need to gather their emotions into place while self-regulating.

They can double as a tactile play surface or textured writing surface by placing paper over them. Please consider helping me add a fun, worthwhile addition to my classroom.
