Help me give my students their own copy of "The Two Hour Job Search," so they know how to find a job they like this summer and for the careers ahead of them.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Ours is a visual and performing arts high school, so the majority of the students take great interest in music, dance, theater, and visual arts. We also have a significant minority of students who are not necessarily captivated by the arts, but who nonetheless enjoy the upbeat and accepting environment of a safe urban school with caring staff.
The healing power of the arts is evident in the friendliness and creativity of our student body.
We typically engage in learning thoughtfully, soothed by the recent experience of having danced or sculpted or played the vibraphone. In addition to being thoughtful, cheerful, and almost unfailingly polite, our students cherish open-mindedness above all.
For example, in our classroom photo, a student is reading Orwell's 1984 to the octopus agave in our garden. The students in this class had an open mind about transplanting agave pups as well as Day of the Dead marigolds and dwarf sunflowers on Día de los Muertos. Since then we have walked out to the garden a couple of times, to plant peas and nasturtiums and also for the sake of taking a walk. The marigolds have taken a strong hold and are thriving.
My Project
The Two Hour Job Search will give my inner-city high school students elite job-finding skills.
My students are often quite brilliant; however, they frequently settle for blah or worse jobs because they're not plugged into the networking techniques used by elite college alums.
This book shares the goods.
The big research project for Spring Semester 2019 is going to be get a job they like and write about how they did it. This book will help us do that. The experience of finding not just any job, but a good job, will make a huge difference in my students future well-being. By contributing, you'll be promoting equity not only in education but also in employment.
