Kids are awesome no matter where they go to school, but this particular school community ensures that children have the support they need to leverage their resources for success! I am a new teacher at my school, but I am quickly seeing my students' enormous capacity for singing, movement, and musical discovery!

We perform music, move to music, and create music in elementary general music classes at my school to boost cognitive development and social-emotional skills.
My Project
It's the final countdown to having everything we need in music class this year!
We have several keyboards, some classroom instruments, and now we just need some more keyboards and supplies to complete our percussion and keyboard program!
Our music students love a challenge! That is why we are developing more opportunities for students to play instruments.
Our students will use the keyboards and percussion to explore simple to complex rhythms within a collaborative instrumental context. We will have performances in which students will play more than one of the instruments for their families and peers. We expect to engage parents and community through these performances. Successful and fun performance will build self-esteem and social skills through collaboration.
We are very excited about developing our keyboard and percussion program to explore classical, world music, rock, jazz, Latin jazz, and popular music genres through ensemble work.
