Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As an educator, I’m constantly striving to become a more dynamic and effective teacher—one who can engage students, deepen their understanding of the world, and help them make meaningful connections across time and cultures. The generous donation of history books, an iPad, and an Apple Pencil will be a game-changer for both my professional development and the learning experiences I provide for my students.

The history books will help me expand my content knowledge and stay current with culturally responsive teaching strategies, especially in underrepresented historical narratives like Indigenous histories, global civilizations, and social justice movements.

As I grow in my understanding, I can design more inclusive, accurate, and thought-provoking lessons that challenge students to think critically and see themselves reflected in the curriculum.

The iPad and Apple Pencil will allow me to explore and integrate creative, tech-forward strategies into my teaching. I can use them to annotate texts, design interactive lessons, create multimedia presentations, and provide personalized feedback more efficiently. These tools will also allow me to attend professional development webinars, access digital teaching platforms, and curate engaging resources—all of which contribute to my growth as an educator.

Professionally, I will continue learning how to blend technology with content in ways that foster inquiry, collaboration, and creativity. I’ll be able to document and reflect on my teaching, build digital portfolios, and stay connected with professional learning communities. These skills not only strengthen my instruction, but they also model lifelong learning for my students.

For my students, this donation means access to more engaging lessons, more visual and interactive content, and a teacher who is equipped to meet their diverse learning needs. They will benefit from richer storytelling, deeper primary source analysis, and more project-based learning—all of which build critical thinking, empathy, and historical literacy.
