This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
A new school year is fast approaching and awaiting me will be 24 energetic students ready to be taught. I would like to start the year off right by having the supplies needed to learn and be organized.
I work at a Title One School where all students receive free lunch and breakfast based on their family’s income.
This being said, asking parents to donate supplies is not always feasible. Many of these students are on track to becoming first generation college students and I would like to help them get a strong start on that path.
The notebooks I am requesting will help students start to learn to be organized by using one for each subject. The crayons, markers, and glue sticks will help with daily activities in almost every area. The whiteboard markers and erasers will help us save paper, make it easier for me to do a quick check of answers from across the room, and make learning a bit more engaging because who doesn't like writing on a whiteboard?
We, as teachers, are here to guide and teach our students, but we need the correct tools to be able to do so to the best of our ability. This project will not only help my students, but also their parents, who may not be able to afford these supplies on their own. Any donation big or small would be appreciated.
