This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Empower our student artists with a sense of accomplishment and pride.

My students are fortunate to come from a multicultural community.

They attend a Title 1 school in an urban district where all students receive free lunch. Our high school accommodates over 2,000 students. 200 of these students make up the artistic members who make up my classroom. With our ever shrinking budget, supplies are needed to accommodate the student population.

My Project

Each year our high school has an annual art show that demonstrates the creative minds of our youth. Each year the funding has become smaller and smaller. We continue to honor our students' accomplishments by displaying their work in the most professional way possible but it has become harder and harder. By supporting this project you will help my students feel a sense of importance, honor, and hopefully purpose to continue creating.

Imagine you are a high school student walking into the main lobby of your school.

The annual art show is overflowing with art in the showcases. The emotions of excitement and accomplishment overtake your senses as you see your own artistic creation beaming back from behind the glass cases. You remember the first sketches or your idea, brainstorming, reworking, and finally completing your artwork. These mat board frames will give my students feelings of success, accomplishment and pride.
