This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My first and second-grade students love coming to the library to hear stories and check out books. They are beginning to develop definite tastes and preferences, so I like to offer them a variety of literature.
At Rebecca Johnson School, our whole staff works to encourage kids to keep reading over the summer.
As the librarian, I'll be working with the public library to offer families the opportunity to sign up for library cards, and I'll talk to them about the importance of summer reading.
I hope that I can reinforce this by offering them a great selection of books and letting them choose one to take home.
