This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are very diverse, they come from 30 different countries from all over the world. Some have escaped from war torn countries, natural disasters, and famine. Others are here because their parents found work. The rest are natives from the inner city of Los Angeles who are trying to count their blessings and do their best to overcome many obstacles. All are learning from the diverse cultures, and overcoming many barriers. They are driven to succeed and always try their hardest.

My Project

My algebra 2 and precalculus classes are full of students on a path to a carreer in the sciences. I have future engineers of all kinds. Including; civil, computer and electrical. I have a student with clear goals and a plan to become a veterinarian. She wants to study at US Davis. At least a few of my students want to go into the computer sciences like programing and coding. There are even a few who want to major in mathematics. A couple students want to lead the future and become math teachers themselves. None of these goals are possible without a strong foundation in mathematics and use of these a class set of graphing calculators.
