My Students

Our reading essential students struggle because they are 2 or more grade levels below grade-level reading proficiency. Our job is to provide them with the skills they need to be successful readers and writers. Our students are curious, want to succeed, and love to learn.

Struggling readers already walk a 'walk of shame, we want to build their confidence and support their reading needs.

Fortunately, our class sizes are smaller allowing more direct instruction.

My Project

Students need informational text and enjoy reading about real heroes and historical events. Providing a classroom set of Ten Days a Madwoman, the life story of a young writer, Nellie Bly, will keep my students engaged and excited about reading.

Struggling readers want to learn about real heroes and daring historical events; this book has pictures, is less intimidating, and promotes reading.

Help me to provide my students find enjoyment in their reading. This is the perfect way to encourage, build better readers while learning about a famous female inspiring work and incredibly daring adventures.
