My Project
Do you remember your music classes in your elementary school years? If you do, you probably remember dancing to the beat of the music with scarves and ribbons whilst your teacher plays an extravagant melody. Or, you may remember your first choir concert with the pianist and the conductor, and the distinguished bow at the end to tell the audience, "Yeah, I did that!" whilst the proud audience demand encores and photos. If you do remember your joyous years of elementary music, then you may notice that the piano is an integral piece of that experience.
A music classroom without a piano only limits our musical experiences.
Without a piano, we are limited to singing our choir concert pieces A Capella (without music in the background), or relying on backing tracks. However, relying on A Capella and/or backing tracks invite opportunities for concert mess-ups and technological issues regarding speakers and amplifiers (etc.)
By providing this school with a functioning piano, it will ensure that students have the best possible music experience that will last for a lifetime. Also, this will introduce the students to more ways of experiencing music, via the Dalcroze experience.
