This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My children learn mostly through class participation and hands-on. This is why it is easy for me to notice when a child is distracted. A calming corner is a perfect place for a distracted child because it contains some of the same learning tools we have in the classroom. It gives them joy and the independence to work on any tool all by themselves without distraction.

The calming corner contains such learning materials as a variety of books, geometrical shapes, texture balls, pillows, beanbags, calming chairs, etc.

It is a place where a distracted child will go to calm down when distracted.
