The Connection Between Nutrition and Mental Wellness
Help me give my students an "energy boost closet" so students have access to a quick snack, supporting their energy, focus, and overall success throughout the day.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In a classroom, the well-being of the students is just as important as their academic achievements. We want to meet them were they are - and that includes filling up their bellies!
Proper nutrition and hydration are essential for our students to stay focused, energized, and mentally sharp.
Through this project, we aim to provide small snacks to give students a quick energy boost.
Many of our hard-working students lack access to warm meals during the school day. By having a "energy boost closet", they’ll be able to enjoy some snacks, giving them the energy they need to stay engaged throughout the day. Feeding their minds/bellies is crucial for mental clarity, especially during long school days or after physical activities.
Our goal is to create a classroom environment that supports both the physical and mental well-being of our students. By creating and stocking up this "energy boost closet", we aim to enhance their focus, stamina, and overall academic performance. These simple resources will make a meaningful difference in their learning experience. Students can freely grab a snack before class without having to feel embarrassed to have to ask.
This project would help create an environment where they would feel like home - just like how we would walk to the kitchen when we are hungry. Providing them with the resources to stay properly nourished will help them continue to thrive and reach their full potential.
