This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our elementary is in a rural area in which we have communities and even some farms within the school zone. I have many students within my own classroom who come from families who live in multi-family homes, or grandparents. Some students are considered ESOL which means they came to us not knowing or with little knowledge of the English language. Our school is a Title 1 school meaning that a majority of our students are on free or reduced lunch.

My Project

Imagine sitting in a desk an an uncomfortable chair for seven hours to do your work for the day. Well not in this classroom! Students are allowed to sit around the room to do their work. Their favorite this to do is to turn over their chair, put a pillow against it and lounge. That is why I am asking for pillows and a bean bag chair. I currently have 17 students and not near enough pillows for the students who enjoy sitting like this. Help them feel comfortable while learning or reading. They say, find a spot that is comfortable to be your go-to study spot. For some of these students, turning their chair in lounge chairs is just what that is. Help allow more students to find their go-to study spot by donating today.
