The students in our school typically aren't in competition for the priciest kicks or the latest brand outfits. Especially during the economic downturn that has recently affected many in the state of Wyoming, they have learned to make do with what they have. Some of what they have at school is decades old.
Old school is fine; however, outdated is not okay.
Every student needs hands-on experiences with tools that are reliable and modern. Each one should become familiar with the technology that is expected to be used on high stakes assessments and most often required in college math classes.
My Project
Students need quick visuals when exploring math concepts. The TI-84 CE graphing calculators make this easy for entry-level algebra students and all the way through college math. Students find this powerful tool easily accessible with its concise menus and straightforward interface.
This requested TI-84 Plus CE class set will allow the students to focus more on the lesson since they will be using the same keystrokes.
They can help each other stay on track and they take pride in learning shortcuts and sharing with their peers. The class set also comes with a charging station that ensures the tools are always ready to go. As an added benefit, it makes it easy to see if units are missing and they can be accounted for quickly. These graphed are durable with free upgrades to the operating system. They will last for years.
