My students are from diverse backgrounds, the majority being African-American. Our school is a Title I school, meaning that the majority of our students are from low-income households or shelters.
Approximately 60% of our students attained a level 2 or below on the NYC state tests.
However, we believe our students, given our student-centered learning approach, can achieve the Regents Level requirements of the New York State. To this end, we could really use all the resources we can get to achieve this goal.
My Project
Students need to see the functionality of the regents' required calculator rather than just demos. This is a 3D view while the teacher shows how to use the various functions of the calculators. This also minimizes the number of screen students must open or need to view the classroom presentation. Many students still work with one screen.
The dell pen enables feedback and presentations on the Dell touch screen devices making the presence of the teacher felt even though some students are remote.
Regardless of our current situation students still need the in-person and personal connection with their instructor.
