My Project
The group of pre-k students I taught this year are the most amazing students I have worked with in 27 years! Last year's group did better than any I had before them, but this year was just as incredible!
You've never seen a class who are so caring to each other.
The rush over to hug a student who comes in late. They comfort classmates who are upset. They help each other deal with their emotions with encouragement and friendship. I never hear them talk negatively about each other. They are incredibly generous with each other and are always willing to share. If I happen to reward one of them for a success or exemplary act, the others don't become upset that they didn't get something--they are happy for their friend!
I'm not looking for ways to help them learn--I want them to always remember their successes this year. I think it was a special experience, and these are students who don't have much of their own to treasure.
I would like to use an 8 x 10 photo frame for each student to display a collage of moments throughout the year, along with a class photo to remember their friends (almost none of them are able to purchase school picture packages).
In the autograph book, I am going to attach a photo of other students to each page. The child pictured will write their name, draw anything they would like, and dictate what they would like their friend to remember.
