The Chill Zone: Sensory Regulation for Learning.

My Project

Many of my students struggle with sensory regulation. This can be associated with Autism, ADHD, OCD and Developmental Delay. Sensory regulation refers to the ability to maintain an appropriate level of alertness and calmness in response to the sensory inputs from the environment. This includes processing sensations such as touch, sound, sight, taste, and smell. Children with sensory regulation difficulties may experience challenges in filtering, organizing, or responding to sensory stimuli, which can impact their behavior, emotions, and interactions.

The inability to process sensory information can make it challenging for my students to be in a "ready to learn" state.

I would love to give them a space to calm their nervous system in order to help them be more successful in the academic environment.
