This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

These chess sets will help our entire school. By having such a unique and challenging game for our students to play we can open doors between grades and educators as well as teach our students the concepts of strategy and deductive reasoning.

Our students live in a moderate to low income bracket, and we are very culturally diverse.

We have an extremely high ELL percentage and have many students that have reading difficulties for a variety of reasons. Each year our school community works hard for the best interest of our children.

My Project

These chess games will allow students to achieve success. Allow them to teach their peers and develop friendships. It will also allow them develop a skill set they will be able to use in the future. Such as the ability to think ahead and understand the importance of learning from mistakes.

The ability to demonstrate understanding allows students to achieve success and build confidence.

These chess sets will give our students tools to become better learners, and help them develop communication and reasoning skills.
