This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In our classroom, science isn’t just taught—it’s discovered, explored, and built by hand.

With your support, we’re transforming our chemistry lessons into immersive experiences where students don’t just learn about atoms—they build them using molecular model kits, watching complex ideas like covalent bonding and molecular geometry come to life in 3D.

These models help students grasp abstract concepts in a tactile, visual way—crucial for diverse learners.

To keep our budding scientists organized and empowered, we’re introducing a mini portable label maker—a tool that allows students to label chemical solutions, organize lab drawers, and even personalize their lab stations. It’s a small device with big impact: reinforcing precision, accountability, and ownership in our lab environment.

A bold, laminated periodic table will anchor our room visually—serving as both a reference and a symbol of the interconnectedness of all matter. Each element tells a story, and students will use custom-printed stickers to mark elements they encounter in experiments or find in everyday life, creating a classroom dialogue about real-world chemistry.

Whiteboards (individual and classroom-sized) become spaces for sketching electron configurations, predicting reactions, and debating chemical outcomes—allowing students to think out loud and learn collaboratively.

Gloves are a simple but critical piece of this puzzle. They allow students to conduct experiments safely and confidently—especially in hands-on labs where we explore acids, bases, and synthesis reactions.

Finally, we’ll use laminating paper to preserve key student work, flashcards, and interactive lab materials that students can reuse, touch, and learn from again and again—saving resources while creating durable, student-made learning tools.

In short, this isn’t just a supply list. It’s the blueprint for a classroom where students become scientists—where creativity meets safety, and chemistry comes alive at every desk.
