You gave them opportunity, pride, and the tools to succeed.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived my students were thrilled & their eyes lit up as they unpacked the skirts. For many, it was their first time wearing dance attire that truly matched the style we were learning about. \r\n\r\n\r\nOne of our most special classroom moments so far has been preparing for our upcoming community performance. They've embraced the responsibility of being cultural ambassadors during community events. Thanks to your support, we are building a strong foundation for what we hope becomes a lasting tradition on campus.\r\n\r\nDance is such a powerful way to express identity and explore other cultures. As a teacher, one of my greatest hopes is to foster a love of reading and learning in my students. With limited resources, however, building a diverse and engaging classroom library can be a challenge. That's why the donation of books has meant so much—not only to me, but to every child who steps into my classroom.\r\n\r\nEach book brought in through the donation holds the potential to open new worlds for my students. From adventurous tales and historical narratives to science facts and picture books, these new additions have sparked excitement and curiosity. It's not uncommon now to see students eagerly flipping through pages, sharing stories with one another, or asking when they can take a book home to read with their families.\r\n\r\nBeyond the joy of reading, these books have helped create a more inclusive and stimulating learning environment. They provide my students with mirrors to see themselves and windows to understand others—tools that are essential for empathy and growth. The generosity of donors has reminded us that learning is a shared responsibility and that communities thrive when they support one another.\r\n\r\nI am deeply grateful for this gift. It is more than just books—it's an investment in the futures of my students, and a powerful reminder of the good that exists in the world.","fullyFundedDate":1739373211269,"projectUrl":"project/physical-books-for-our-future-leaders/9105638/","projectTitle":"Physical Books for our Future Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lara","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8641557_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1661822747252","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8641557"},{"teacherId":7932418,"projectId":9144197,"letterContent":"This donations ahs made a lot of difference in our class, students are able to use these calculators in the class to solve there complex problems and they feel that they don't have any limits now, earlier they used to get scared of the big calculation and they would take out the phones to do the calculations and get distracted by the technology . I pride myself in creating an environment that allows for educational growth as well as personal growth. My students and I achieve that by reading books like Accidental Love by Gary Soto. Accidental Love explores themes of young love, identity and growth, cultural background and friendship. Themes of which are perfect learning experiences for my ELD high school students. \r\n\tELD stands for English as a second language, my students come from different cultural backgrounds and being able to read books like these help them better understand their peers a bit better. The fact that I was able to give them a hard copy book felt magical and I know they truly appreciated it. We live in a world where everything is being digitized and sometimes my kiddos prefer hard copy things.\r\n\tReading books helps ELD students in many impactful ways. For example, they are exposed to new vocabulary words, improved grammar, comprehension skills, cultural insights, critical thinking, fluency enhancement amongst many others. Overall, reading books provides ELD students with a rich resource for language development and cultural understanding. For me, seeing students fall in love with reading is my personal favorite because if you enjoy what you are doing it doesn't feel like a task or assignment. \r\n\tThank you for allowing me to teach my students with the resources they deserve.
