My Students
I'm a speech-language pathologists in a special education middle-high school, working with students with multiple disabilities, including moderate to severe expressive and receptive language disabilities.
My students are curious, hardworking, fun-loving, and inspire me every day!
They are primarily nonverbal, but they come to school eager to communicate! I incorporate learning and communicating in a variety of settings including the classroom, vocational settings, and the community.
My students love to socialize with teachers, staff, peers, and community workers. Donors Choose recently helped me fund an iPad to use as an AAC device, as well as materials for my speech department's Harry Potter themed curriculum, and now I need your help to fund our life skills cooking lessons!
My Project
As a school speech-language pathologist, I travel from classroom to classroom and collaborate with the classroom teachers. We focus on daily living skills with our students. Our students have fun with hands-on cooking lessons.
Please help supply my speech department with a cart for our cooking lessons.
This cart will provide storage for our cooking materials, and will allow us to easily travel to multiple classrooms with our supplies.
Over the past few years, we have had to carry multiple bags to classrooms, often forget materials in our offices, and are running out of space for our cooking supplies. Having a cart is an important for these lessons and will allow our students to have access to cooking simple meals they can learn to do at home!
