My Students

My students are eager to learn. They crave hands on labs and activities. Bringing project based learning activities to the classroom excites them.

My students are engaged every moment that they can get their hands "dirty".

When they can dig deep into a project, analyze content and bring it to the real world, it brings learning full circle. These students come from small town America where they do not have all the opportunities that larger schools have. For this reason, I believe that is why they crave and love doing stem projects.

My Project

The purpose of the sphero project is to increase the students’ knowledge of the engineering design process through content area information and fun.

In today’s society, students need to be able to keep up with the world and learn technological processes.

This should also be accomplished by allowing children to still be children. The sphero company has designed an all ages friendly robot that students use to learn coding. Coding in this context implies that student will learn how to actually write script and interact with the functionality of how the robot acts. The object can easily be used to focus on content as well as preparing the students for the future with the incorporation of coding. The use of the spheros will help students learn coding by reinforcing the technology most student already have by using applications on their phones or other electronic devices.
