In this small, rural town our mission is "High Tech, High Expectations: Committed to Excellence for All Students!" When you serve students in a high need, high poverty area with over ninety percent students receiving free or reduced price lunch, every advantage has the potential to be life-changing. No matter what challenges our students may face in life, they come to school ready to learn and eager to explore.
If there is one lesson that I have learned, it is not to place my own limitations on my students.
I know that my students are always ready to take their learning to the next level. They are independent thinkers who are fearless when it comes to new experiences. They will try anything and that is what will allow them to be successful whether it is in college, a chosen profession, or life in general.
Our Genius Bar is up and running which means that students are buzzing with great ideas, apps, and resources throughout the school day. A set of class headphones will allow students to have a personalized learning experience. As students use technology in the classroom, they can sometimes get distracted by the work of a neighbor. With headphones, students will be able to hear better and avoid distracting a classmate that may be working at the same time. This will make our Genius Bar a more calm and focused environment where students can think more clearly with less noise in the room.
