My Students

I work for the Viborg-Hurley School District. This is my first year teaching here, and our district has great support from our communities. We are in a low income school district with limited resources available. My students are hardworking and willing to work together with our limited resources that we have available now. However, if we expand what we currently have to include a classroom set of graphing calculators it would provide an equal opportunity learning experience where all students could expand their skills in the math classroom.

My Project

I need TI-83 Plus Graphing Calculators for my high school students to use in their algebra, geometry, algebra 2, and pre-calculus classes.

Many problems require students to graph functions and find certain calculations that must be done on a graphing calculator.

Many students aren't able to afford these calculators as they can be very expensive.

If each student was able to use their own graphing calculator rather than trying to share or just going without, it would help all of my students to be successful in their math classes. They would each having equal opportunities to the learning materials. Every student would be able to expand on their knowledge and build upon the skills that we've worked on in class with the right resources.
