My Students
Our students today are exposed to more violence than ever before. Bullying is a big issue in today's schools and seeing a documentary based on "real life" will help them relate to the consequences of their actions.
Our students are 8th grade inner city young adults.
They are embarking on the next step of their lives by entering high school. Our school is culturally diverse ethnic groups consisting of African American, Hispanic, Asian, Caucasian, Middle Easter and Island Pacific. Some families are recent immigrants to the United States and do not speak English. 90% of the students qualify for free lunches.
My Project
Because of the diversity of our students they do not understand the impact of their actions on others. Because today's students are more likely to pay attention to visual stimuli seeing this movie, "Bully" will helps them relate to their peers and with show them the results of bullying actions.
Since bullying affect every aspect of our student lives this will impact them in a positive way to not only recognize bullying but help prevent it.
As young adults entering high school our students need to become more independent and take leadership roles.
