Thank you for reading this essay! By sponsoring this project, you'll be assisting sixth through eighth-grade students as they work to re-create many of Earth's most iconic landmarks. They're dedicated students who are excited about participating in such an engaging learning experience.

"The Building Blocks of History" is a unique and engaging class that combines hands-on learning with historical exploration.

In this course, students will use Legos to construct significant world buildings and landmarks, gaining a deeper understanding of the historical, cultural, and architectural significance of the structures. Through a combination of interactive building projects, research assignments, engaging cultural experiences, and guest speakers, students will explore the building blocks that have shaped World History.

Through this course, students will be able to develop an appreciation for world history through the study of iconic buildings and landmarks, enhance their spatial awareness, creativity, and problem-solving skills through hands-on Lego building projects, and foster research and critical thinking skills by investigating the historical, cultural, and architectural context of each landmark. They will also gain exposure to guest speakers with expertise in history, architecture, and related fields.

Students will collaborate to build the following:

-The Pyramids of Giza

-The Colosseum

-A portion of the Great Wall of China

-The Taj Mahal

-The Eiffle Tower

and

-The London Bridge and Elizabeth Tower
