My Project

I would really love to help provide my students an opportunity to experience the world of imagination through books! These books will give my students the opportunity to develop extraordinary reading skills beyond their imagination.

As students begin their transition from 2nd to 3rd grade, reading skills build more on comprehension and the ability to connect to the text.

Chapter books are a great way, to help introduce learning experiences and build reading stamina during each chapter read.

These books will help to ensure that students have the proper opportunity needed to do so! I will be working with students in small groups, to help build their confidence. Anxiety with reading is a real thing, and finding ways to help encourage students to feel confident about their ability is important to me and my school.

It is my desire to develop strong, enthusiastic readers! I want my students to know the importance of being able to read and how it can change their lives. As a counselor, I have used many tools to help build safe spaces for students to express how they feel, and to feel comfortable asking questions. My Squishmallows are part of the project too as they help create safe spaces in our reading realm. Similar to the weighted blanket, it is a great coping mechanism to use with kids to help motivate, and relax their nervous system.

Students should be aware that reading is fun and is a magical world that allows your imagination to run away, and to learn new things. We need and appreciate your support. Paw Creek students are SMART! Our growth model for this year is to go from B to A school. We believe that they can do anything, will you help me create this space for my students?
