The Bigger The View The Greater The Learning

My students need a projector to synthesize various science, math, social studies, and reading lessons. They can direct their own presentations and learn from each other.

My Students

I have mini teachers (my students) in my classroom who love to demonstrate how to do things. The opportunity to do this with a bigger view is right up their ally!

Have you ever seen the faces of students who are going to watch a movie?

Well, let me tell you, they light up! My students are always eager to learn through the computer. With an LCD projector I will be able to help them enjoy learning more content area subjects. White board apps will be phenomenal. My students are eager to learn and love to touch, listen and watch. They are creative in their presentations and always have a question regarding scientific phenomena. However, because of their poverty stricken conditions, they are not as exposed to certain basic entities as they should be. This makes them very curious learners who are always thirsty and hungry for more. They never complain about learning and are sometimes disappointed when a lesson has to end or be continued another day. I am sure that their eagerness to learn will make them lifelong learners who will become productive members of society.

My Project

With the help of an LCD projector I will be able to help students to enjoy learning. I can utilize a variety of apps that can help them to demonstrate their abilities and share with the class. They can work together on projects and conduct presentations. Mostly, I will be able to provide more interesting science and social studies lessons, which are weak academic areas according to the National Assessment of Educational Progress. This projector will make a difference in my classroom because I have students with special needs who learn in different ways. According to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002, inclusion is now the law and teachers have to find ways to hold student's interest long enough for them to learn, and most importantly, for them to succeed. An LCD projector will definitely help us!

In my classroom I do not have a overhead projector, so instead, I get all my 31 students to huddle around the computer screen to watch the clips for all content area subjects.

This can be difficult and uncomfortable because whole group sessions are next to impossible. I have to break my class in two and teach each group separately, if I really want them to get the benefit of the lesson. I share my iPad, and there are so many apps that we use. The projector will allow more eyes to see.
