This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My music students work hard and always try their best. However, sometimes the equipment they use, although functioning, is actually not ideal for their physiological needs. As a music educator, I learned that the larger the mouthpiece, the more advanced the player should be. As I am learning, this is not the case.

Mouthpiece sizes are about matching the player's needs, not about their playing ability.

A small mouthpiece on a beginner student or even on an advanced student may actually hinder their ability to play at their best. By having a wider range of trumpet mouthpiece sizes, I hope to better accommodate all types of players that enter my music program.
