Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We're the Eagles and my Eaglets are ready to SOAR! I have 30 hardworking, respectful and kind students from very diverse backgrounds. Many of my Eagles struggle to meet grade level standards, but they arrive every morning with smiles on their faces and a willingness to do their best. Our schedule is packed with district mandated curriculum and we incorporate movement whenever we can to help our Eagles learn and grow. One thing I have learned about this class is they need to move more than any other class I have in my career.
My Project
My students want a "Goldie Locks" classroom. We have desks and chairs that are too big and too small. We have fourth grade desks and first grade tables for a second grade classroom. Our chairs are mismatched in both size, shapes and color. We do have a few desks and chairs that are just right, but you never get too much time at them. All my students need seating that is just right. Flexible seating, such as balance balls, chair desk and wobble cushions, will provide all my students a productive, comfortable learning environment. The flexible seating were requesting, along with the few flexible seating options we already have and traditional chairs, will provide students with several options to meet their every changing needs and desires for comfortable seating.
