In this trying time of online learning, I have seen so much resiliency in my students. I currently am teaching a dual credit chemistry class where the students are earning college credit while learning online.
There is a lot of diversity in my students, but they are all great thinkers and highly motivated.
My goal is to spark an interest in them to move on with some big dreams!
With our world on pause right now because of a pandemic, I would like to think that the students I'm teaching right now hold the answers to our problems. I would like for them to move on and become our world's problem solvers.
I feel like my class is a stepping stone for them to have the access to pursue a career in a science field that may be in high demand right now.
My Project
If I receive this iPad, it will allow my students to have an alternate model of instruction. During this time of online learning, alternate models of instruction have sparked an interest in me and I want to take it further for my upcoming and future years of teaching. I would like to change my methods of instruction by using a flipped classroom style for my classes where they watch videos at home for homework and I can spend more time with them in class working through the material and practice more!
This would allow me to have more time in class to go over the concepts with them and to find where they are confused.
Instead of spending class time with lectures, it will benefit them more for me to help them solidify the learning concepts.
