My Project

I have been a classroom teacher for 24 years. I taught 1st grade for four years and kindergarten for 20 years. I have loved every minute and every class I've had for those years. I am beginning a new journey in my teaching career! I will be teaching 2nd grade next year! I am very excited and can't wait for this new grade level. This is a new experience, but after teaching kindergarten for the last 20 years, I don't have the materials for my future 2nd grade students! The items I am requesting will be necessary for student manipulatives, materials, classroom management, and organization to make students more successful.

My goal for this project is to provide my students with what they need to be successful in 2nd grade and for me to be organized and efficient.

My future 2nd graders are unique because they come from military families. They are resilient and strong because their families are military so they don't stay planted in one place for long. Our school is in a neighborhood that is located on a naval weapons base so most of our school's students are made up of mostly military families. That makes our students strong, resilient, responsible, and leaders! Our students and their bravery, resilience, adaptability, and toughness will make them strong leaders as young men and young women future world leaders! They deserve to have everything possible to make their school experience all it can be! I hope to provide them with as much of what I can to make their 2nd-grade year memorable and as unique as they are!
