My Students
Qualifying to join the Drumline is a dream come true for a lot of students. Ever since the movie was made, popular teenagers gain a great deal of confidence and experience when they pick up the drums. However, over the years the sticks have been passed down from class to class and are wearing very thin.
Our children are very proud high school students.
They are the gems of a traditionally tough area and really take pride in their success in an area that isn't "supposed" to succeed. They are all musical beginners but they are very eager to learn. The financial state of the school does not allow for much expansion.
My Project
The Drumline is considered to be the most elite and explosive group of musicians in the school. When students join and are accepted, they are held to highest standards of musicianship and discipline. They are tested mentally, musically, and physically. These mallets will allow the students to challenge themselves and push the boundaries of their comfort zone musically which will increase their confidence in and outside of the music classroom.
With these mallets, the students will be able perform and showcase their talents as well as play more challenging music which will require a stronger sense of discipline.
These students deserve to be able to shine as brightly as their talent and dedication will allow. Their parents support the children's passion for music, the administration support the knowledge and discipline needed to succeed in music, and we hope that you too will support the dreams and passion of these percussionists.
