Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students at my school are extremely hard working, especially when it comes to reading, math and science. I am their orchestra teacher and when they come to my class, they are ready to train their brains in unique ways! My students are ready to not only have fun and learn, but to enhance their creativity, music skills, and appreciation for arts and culture.
Students attending my school come from a background where learning a musical instrument is not financially possible.
My goal is to provide them with the knowledge, performance experience, and space that allows them the same privilege as other students their age. Playing a musical instrument is a collaborative experience that my students are excited about when they walk through my door.
My Project
All great musicians know how to tune their instruments and use metronomes to practice rhythm and I, of course, want my students to be the best musicians possible!
My students do not have tuners or metronomes to use when practicing, and I want them to have these essential skills so they can advance.
Help us get a few of these tools for our classroom! They will be used daily and provide students with critical information about their playing. Students at my school cannot use their cell phones in class so they are unable to use a tuner app or metronome app. These tuners are necessary for school practicing!
