Aiming to please and working to succeed are two characteristics that I love about my students. Although the majority are from low-income homes, my urban babies enjoy reading and writing. They are very passionate about reading and sharing their knowledge with others. When they read with their kindergarten book buddies, their confidence and fluency gets stronger every time. My students make me proud because they are not aiming to please me. They are working hard to please themselves and become better for their futures.
You will truly make a difference in the lives of my students by helping to fund this project. The requested materials will make our reading and writing lessons better. Having laminator pouches will allow students to preserve many creations. Having Sharpies, a color printer, ink, colored highlighters, sticky notes, stickers, posterboards, crayons, and colored paper will allow the students to use their imagination even more, master their editing skills, and produce excellent final drafts for presentations. Kleenex, hand sanitizer, and Lysol wipes are always useful in the classroom for trying to keep germs to a minimum. The whiteboard markers, erasers, and pencils will be used daily for writing and small group learning. All these items will make learning English Language Arts even better!
