This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are high-energy and love to learn. They come from low-income households, and many speak English as their second language. They are determined to learn, despite the difficulties. This project will not only impact my classroom, but three others as well.
My goal is to give these students the best foundation I can, so that they are able to impact the world!
They embrace collaboration and love to create new things, whether it be building a sturdy tower or writing and illustrating a book. We are in need of supplies so students can have maximum learning in our classrooms!
My Project
These supplies are things second graders use everyday. These materials are outside of the range of what parents and schools provide for our students. The chart paper will be to make posters with the children on various strategies that they will refer back to until they have mastered the skill. Research states that when students are actively engaged in the creation of visual aids, they use them more often. The Lysol wipes are essential when flu season strikes. The dry erase markers will be used for individual math practice, word building in phonics, and guided reading and math. While these supplies may seem simple, they are essential to our classrooms. Your generosity will impact four second grade classrooms!!
