Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Children love to paint, draw and create beautiful works of art. The problem is we keep running out of materials because art is an extremely important part of an early childhood program.

I would like to begin by thanking all the people that support this wonderful program.

I have been so fortunate over the years and have been able to provide wonderful experiences for my young students over the years. The children I teach are all between the ages of 3 and 5. They are all curious, fun loving, enthusiastic, silly, loving and creative little people. The students come from low income families; all of the children receive free lunch. The children come from culturally diverse backgrounds and many come from homes where English is spoken as a second language. I am always seeking ways to inspire my young students and give them opportunities to express themselves. My goal is to present as many different disciplines as I can into my classroom. That is why I am turning to you.

My Project

I am in need of art materials for my young students to create great designs, drawings, paintings, collages and projects. I want to make sure I have the media to give these children an amazing year. I am requesting watercolors, fluorescent paint, paint pots, play-doh, play-doh tools, canvas panels, craft leaves, craft straws, colorful noodles, sand, wooden craft shapes, sensory collage materials and various other items for different projects throughout the year. I would love to have these materials in order to pique my students' curiosity about exploring the world around them. They would be free to use their imagination, and the inner artistic ability that does exist in every child would come to fruition. Please make this artistic journey possible. I absolutely love to see the sense of accomplishment and joy when a young child completes a project. They are so proud! Your donation would enable my young students to create wonderful works of art.

Children need to explore sensory materials as it strengthens their fine motor skills.

Their artwork also gives them confidence as it reflects their experiences and ideas. An education in the arts also ensures an enriched cultural opportunity, stronger analytical skills and higher achievement in other subject areas. They will learn to design, invent and problem solve. Lastly, these materials will help reinforce the skills taught in the classroom. Thank you for reading this proposal.
